Our office employs many types of new technology. These technologies benefit the patient by offering improved diagnosis and care.
Digital X-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film x-rays while providing superior diagnostic capability. The improved diagnostic capability of digital x-rays and the ability to view the x-rays on a computer screen improves the patient’s ability to understand and follow treatment. Digital x-rays are instant; there is no longer a need to develop the film as the images display directly on the computer screen. It’s also a very green technology. There is no longer a need for film, developer and other chemical waste. It’s better for you and it’s better for the environment!
Cone Beam CT
Hawaii Endodontics is pleased to announce the addition of the Kodak 9000 cone-beam CT to our office. Our office can now utilize this state-of-the-art, small volume Cone-Beam CT (computed tomography) technology to provide highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of endodontic disease. The Cone-Beam CT allows three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses and surrounding structures with minimal radiation to the patient, enabling a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with standard 2-D dental x-rays. With the addition of the Cone-Beam CT technology to our office, our practice is committed to providing innovative, high-quality, patient care.
Surgical Microscopes and Imaging
The use of specialized operating microscopes means that the doctor is able to get a detailed look at the work they are doing during all phases of your endodontic treatment. The additional magnification and illumination allow them to work with great precision and see small details such as calcified canals and fractures. The Endodontist is able to more accurately diagnose and treat the patient using a dental surgical microscope to improve the potential outcome of the treatment from “good” to “excellent”. Further, some microscopes may be equipped with high-resolution video and digital photography allowing the doctor to enhance patient communication and document treatment.
